We are pleased to have Winnie Weng, senior associate lawyer of Withersworldwide and also a mother, to talk about “The Business Lifecycle.” The lesson adopted an interactive approach to provide professional answers for pain points in the start-up stage of entrepreneurship and legal considerations.
The content of the class focused on intellectual property and data privacy which we discussed on aspects including direct marketing, publicity rights, the copyright of content creators such as KOLs, and allocation issues of company shares. All these together not only improved our fellows’ knowledge and understanding of corporate and commercial matters, but also empowered them to solve problems encountered in daily life.
In addition, we had Womentors conducting a session of Combating Unconscious Bias using “Hack your Box”. The game in the workshop inspired our fellows and colleagues from Withers to re-learn about themselves and re-consider the aspects of inclusiveness being to “be valued,” “be heard,” and “be respected.” Giving others the same level of feeling by consciously adjusting the way of social interaction and creating a more inclusive and diverse society.
It was a warm and cozy lesson while learning over great dialogues and lunch. We appreciated Withers and Womentors providing the kindness and hospitality to our fellows in a truly inclusive setting.
