On November 29, 2024, the atmosphere was filled with excitement and anticipation as we gathered for our Fundraising Dinner hosted by Hong Kong Momtrepreneurs. This year’s theme, Pivot Our Way to Success, highlighted the vital role adaptability plays in entrepreneurship, creating an inspiring backdrop for our mission: empowering stay-at-home mothers through entrepreneurship education.
A Transformative Evening
The event kicked off by founder & executive director Lena Wong welcoming guests from all walks of life, eager to support and uplift the mothers in our community. As guests arrived, the stunning venue set the stage for a night of inspiration, connection, and celebration. Co-chair Sindy Leung also shared HKM’s very own entrepreneurial journey.
Inspiring Speakers
One of the evening’s highlights was the lineup of inspiring speakers – started with Ms Crisel Consunji, actress, singer and founder of Baumhaus Family Centres – a successful entrepreneur who shared her journeys, emphasizing the challenges and triumphs she faced along the way. The Moms4Moms fellow, River Lam, now co-Executive Director of Teach for Hong Kong also took the stage, sharing personal stories of resilience and growth. Her words resonated deeply, motivating attendees to embrace their own entrepreneurial aspirations.
HKM’s work and impact was further endorsed by Professor Cheryl Chui of HKU’s social work and social administration department to back up with research and data – how entrepreneurship and mentorship can support stay at home mothers returning to workforce.
Engaging Silent Auction
As the night progressed, guests participated in a lively silent auction featuring exclusive items by Moms4Moms fellows. Bidding was competitive, but the true victory lay in knowing that all proceeds would directly support our educational programs aimed at equipping stay-at-home mothers with essential skills. The excitement in the room was palpable as attendees rallied to contribute to this noble cause.
