Celebrating Resilience: HK Momtrepreneurs’ 5th Cohort Graduation Lights Up Hong Kong

On May 8, 2025, Hong Kong Momtrepreneurs hosted a flagship event at the UBS Auditorium, IFC TWO, marking the graduation of its 5th Moms4Moms Fellowship Cohort under the theme “Beyond Motherhood: Care for Self, Care for All.” The ceremony celebrated mothers who’ve transformed personal struggles into entrepreneurial triumphs while redefining self-care as a catalyst for community impact.

Event Highlights:

🔥 Pitching Power: Moms4Moms Fellows showcased bold ventures— from user based school ranking platforms to children artwork storage solutions — each born from resilience. These pitches highlighted their journey from self-doubt to innovation.

💡 Panel Wisdom: Speakers like migrant advocate Xyrille, corporate leader Kitty, and educator Maryam shared strategies for balancing caregiving with self-care, urging corporations to become allies through policies like flexible hours and returnship programs.

🏆Awards & Tears:

Best Presentation Award went to Gigi Cheng

Gigi’s business idea was about creating a “Hong Kong Domestic Helper Info Hub” on Thread—a platform dedicated to providing practical information about hiring and managing domestic helpers, helping employers and helpers build a smoother working relationship.

Most Creative Idea Award went to Karina Wong

Karina’s business idea was “One-Stop Children’s Artwork Reborn Studio”, which helps people to upgrade their children’s creations into exquisite and unique accessories, treasures, personal belongings, or home goods. Her business aimed to transform their children’s creations into new and beautiful items that can be used.

High-Flyer Award honoured Grace Lam

Grace’s business idea was providing a genuine education feedback platform, a high-quality paid version of an ‘Education Kingdom’ that gather parents insights and experience in nurturing children, to become ‘Star Education Consultants’ and help users to save thousands of money and avoiding to pay educational consultants who cannot reflect the real situation of the schools.

Hong Kong Momtrepreneurs Founder Lena’s opening speech resonated deeply as she shared her own breaking point — a sprained ankle from juggling motherhood and work — that taught her, “Self-care isn’t selfish; it’s survival.” Guest of Honor Dr. Winnie Tang, MH, JP, echoed this, likening entrepreneurship to parenting: “Both demand sleepless nights, endless learning, and unconditional love.”

Why It Matters: With women now leading 50% of Hong Kong’s legal and accounting sectors, the event underscored a truth: When mothers thrive, cities thrive.
