On May 7, 2026, Hong Kong Momtrepreneurs (HKM) held our annual Mother’s Day Flagship at UBS, IFC2 – and it was our most meaningful event yet.
Under the theme “The Invisible Strength: Nurturing Families, Building Futures” (堅毅雙翼:滋養家庭‧創建未來) , we gathered nearly 200 attendees – including fellows, alumni, mentors, NGO partners, corporate friends, and special guests – to celebrate the quiet but powerful resilience of mothers, with a special focus on mothers raising children with special educational needs (SEN).
The energy in the room was unforgettable.
Keynote: From “One‑Woman Band” to “AI‑Powered Mother”
Beatrice Tai, CEO of The Payment Cards Group (PCG) , delivered a keynote that moved the room to laughter, nods, and quiet reflection.
She started not as a tech expert, but as someone who had been in the audience’s shoes:
“I started my company 10 years ago with just a couple of people. On the business side, it was just me. I was the Web Developer – struggling with HTML. I was the Designer making leaflets with Adobe. And I was the Sales Rep begging suppliers for a chance. I call that being a ‘One‑Woman Band.'”
Then she turned to the mothers in the room – especially those raising SEN children:
“You aren’t just building a startup. You’re the CEO of your household, navigating therapy sessions and school meetings. That is what I call Invisible Strength. You’re already superheroes – just tired ones.”
Beatrice then shared a sobering stat: 83% of big firms use AI, but only 48% of SMEs do. Why? Because when you’re a “One‑Woman Band,” you don’t have time to “learn tech” – you’re too busy keeping the lights on.
But the good news, she said, is that “the tech has finally caught up to your heart.”
She introduced the audience to their “Digital Support Squad” – tools that work for free:
- Lovable or Manus – your developer. Just describe your dream, and they build the site in minutes.
- 豆包 (Doubao) – your mobile brain. Drafts your marketing while you wait at a doctor’s appointment.
- Lindy or Gemini – your digital COO. Handles admin so you can focus on human work.
Then she turned to payments – the engine of any business. With SoftPOS, your smartphone becomes a terminal. With AI‑powered payment portals, customers can pay you anytime, even through WhatsApp. And the future? Agentic Commerce – an AI sales team that never sleeps, helping you sell 24/7.
Beatrice closed with a bold question that lingered in the air:
“If AI can be your developer, your COO, and now your sales team… what will YOU do with the time you get back? The ‘One‑Woman Band’ era is over. The ‘AI‑Powered Mother’ era has begun. You have the strength. Now, you have the squad. Let’s make the invisible, invincible.”
Star Panel: Resilience Across Sectors
Our panel discussion, moderated by HKM alumna Gigi Poon, brought together three extraordinary women:
- Ho Yuenkei, BBS – Paris 2024 Paralympic Boccia Double Gold Medalist, who shared a moving account of how her mother’s unconditional love shaped her journey
- Olivia Wong – General Manager – Environmental & Social Responsibility, MTR Corporation, who highlighted the importance of flexible work arrangements for working mothers
- Lucia Ngan – Project Manager, Learning Bridge, who shared how daily activities and community support can transform the lives of SEN youth and their families
Their stories reminded everyone that invisible strength comes in many forms – and it is always worth celebrating.
12 Moms4Moms Fellows: From Caregiving to Entrepreneurship
The heart of the event was the Moms4Moms 2025/26 Graduation Ceremony. Twelve fellows – including mothers of SEN children – delivered 60-second business pitches to a distinguished panel of judges:
- Danny Lap Lee – Managing Partner, VCA Capital Limited
- Prudence Wat – Human Resources Director, Cyberport Asia
- Lisa Lam – Deputy Executive Director, HandsOn Hong Kong
Mother’s Day Social Marketplace: Connecting with the Community
Thanks to UBS for generously providing the space, we also hosted our first Mother’s Day Social Marketplace right next door.
We brought together 4 HKM alumni and 3 partner organisations – all serving or led by mothers, SEN youth, and caregivers. Finance professionals, event attendees, and passers‑by shopped with purpose, connecting with mom‑led social enterprises and learning about their missions.
It was a beautiful example of how the corporate and community sectors can come together to create real impact.

Thank You
To our speakers, judges, vendors, volunteers, and every single person who attended – thank you for believing in invisible strength.
As our founder Lena Wong said from the stage:
“Ten years ago, no one believed an NGO could champion motherhood AND entrepreneurship. Today, the idea that AI can help SEN youth and mothers still feels like a dream. But we are making it happen. Right here, right now. Together, everyone in this room is making history.”
Let’s keep making history – together.
