First ever bilingual momtrepreneur platform – HONG KONG MOMTREPRENEURS is officiated
Bringing new perspectives to parenting
[Hong Kong, December 1] Hong Kong is ranked no 1 in Asia with 26% of women who left their career to take care of the families, according to a recent research by HSBC. More women in Hong Kong treasure the well being of their children; it also demonstrates that this city lacks the policy and employment opportunity which can provide enough flexibility to these ladies. Yet there is an option for these mothers to have better control over their own time to have a real work life balance so to be there when the children need them.
Hong Kong Momtrepreneurs is the first bilingual social media platform to support mothers who want to start a business. Mothers are always busy in taking care of the family chaos and often lose themselves. Pursuing their dreams is certainly a luxury when mothers do not even get enough sleep at night. However in the very moment when the mothers can feel how their achievements meant the world to the little ones, all the sleepless nights working hard just vanish.
The objectives of Hong Kong Momtrepreneurs are:-
to support and promote entrepreneurship among mothers, husbands and children by providing a platform to create opportunities through networking, trainings and events;
to advance the self fulfilment and achievement of women to balance themselves among families, careers and community;
to engage more involvements by children in their parents’ work life and enhance the parents as role models for their children.
“Parenting is no longer about teaching or coaching the children, it is about being the role models for them and being the person you want your child to be,” shared by Lena, founder of Hong Kong Momtrepreneurs. “When I was young I saw my dad sweating and working hard in the factory which had given me a strong conviction to work hard to earn every single dime. Nowadays, parents are often working in front of the computers or in another context that children do not understand. Earning money is no longer in a form that young kids can feel.”
HK Momtrepreneurs is set up not only for the mothers but also extending the reach to the better halves and their offsprings. “The spouses are key success behind any momtrepreneur and being there supporting us on every step has allowed us stay focus at work,” founder of Nutty Concept Florence applauded. “Having our kids see me focus at work to do it step by step at the factory just make this business having more callings than it already has.”
A group of mommies got together to organise a pop up Christmas event on December 1 and 2 where Hong Kong Momtrepreneurs was officially launched. Among 20 vendors and 8 speakers, there is an one of its kind – KiDtrepreneur CAN-DO, where children donate their own toys and sell them at the stall. Proceeds and any unsold toys will be donated to Caritas Green Baby. “We want our children to also experience selling and getting a feel of the challenge even for an hour only.”
More events and trainings will be rolling out by HK Momtrepreneurs for mothers, husbands and their children. For more details: www.hkmomtrepreneurs.com
